Frontal fibrosing alopecia (FFA) describes hair loss and scarring characterised by progressive frontotemporal hair line recession.

Since it was described in 1994, there has been an exponential increase in reported cases of FFA in the literature, with a similar increase in cases seen in clinical practice. This presentation will include an overview of the clinical and histological features of FFA and tips regarding early and timely recognition of the condition, through real-life cases and case series. We will also discuss up-to-date treatment options, ways of monitoring disease activity and prognosis.
