Mr Caruana Dingli graduated MD (Melit) in 1984. After working at St Luke’s Hospital, he trained in Surgery for 7 years in the UK. He is a Consultant General and Breast Surgeon and has headed the Breast Unit for about 10 years. He chairs the Department of Surgery at Mater Dei Hospital. He is also a Senior Lecturer at the University of Malta, Vice President of the Association of Surgeons of Malta and Vice President (Europe) of the Commonwealth Medical Association.

His main interests are in treating breast cancer patients with an emphasis on ensuring the best possible cosmetic and psychological outcome.
Mr Caruana Dingli was previously President of the Medical Association of Malta, the Association of Surgeons of Malta and the Commonwealth Medical Association.

Outside surgery he has many interests including astronautics, photography, motoring, reading, history and enjoying the countryside.
