After completing the Pharmacy course at the University of Malta, Dr. Silvio Grixti pursued his studies at the University ‘La Sapienza’ in Rome where he started studying Medicine and Surgery. Dr. Grixti undertook his housemanship through almost all the hospitals in Malta however he feels that the period  he spent in St. Luke’s Hospital mostly in the A & E Department have formalised in him  a front line approach with almost all forms  of  patients‘ complaints. In those years he sat for parts of his  MRCP and later on, he started the vocational training in Family Medicine where he obtained his MRCGP(int). He is a member of the Malta College of Family Doctors and his work is mostly based in the south of Malta mostly in Zejtun. In July 2017 he was elected as a Member of Parliament and is the Chairman of the Standing Committee on Health.
