Dr Robert G. Xuereb is the Chairman of the Department of Cardiology, Mater Dei Hospital, Malta and the President of the Maltese Cardiac Society. He is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Malta. He was elected as a Fellow of the European Society of Cardiology in 2003 and Fellow of the American College of Cardiology in 2011. His main interests are interventional cardiology and smoking as a risk factor for coronary artery disease. He has a vast publication portfolio and has presented at numerous national and international meetings. He is very much involved in philanthropic work being a member of the Marigold Foundation.
