Christopher Barbara graduated in Medicine and Surgery in Malta and continued his studies in Medical Microbiology in London, UK. He is a Consultant in Bacteriology at Virology at Mater Dei Hospital and currently is the Clinical Chairperson for Pathology. He is a Senior Lecturer at the University of Malta and is the National Microbiology Focal Point for Malta at the European Centre for Disease Control in Stockholm. He is also member of various boards and Committees including ESCAIDE (European Scientific Conference on Applied Infectious Disease) , ACIP(Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices) and MMJ (Maltese Medical Journal). He is also Founder member of the Malta College of Pathologists.
