Chronic Heart Failure – A 2021 Update for the Medical Professionals

This session is an update on the new guidelines on the management of chronic heart failure published in August 2021. The session will focus on diagnosis of HF and proceed to provide an update into the new treatment algorithm for CHF with particular attention to HF with reduced ejection fraction.

Learning Objectives

1. To diagnose heart failure in full, including aetiology and clinical phenotype
2. To focus on the new treatment algorithm; what treatment choices are available and emphasize on the importance of maximal uptitration of treatment for better prognosis
3. To become aware on what local services are offered by the Cardiology team and Heart Failure team in Malta
