Mr Mark Formosa was appointed a Consultant in Obs & Gynae at Mater Dei Hospital in 2000.

His area of special interest is Recurrent Pregnancy Loss and he set up and runs a service for patients with this pathology through a special dedicated clinic.
He has been very active in developing the standard of training in the Department. This saw him hold the office of Treasurer, Secretary, Vice-President and eventually President of the Malta College of Obstetricians & Gynaecology.

While in Office he established very close ties with the European College of Obs & Gynae and served on Council.

The Department also became a recognized EBCOG training Centre.

He has now been appointed as Deputy Chair of the Department at Mater Dei Hospital where he continues to apply his experience to assist with the development of the ObGyn Profession and the Department.
