Overview of the role of elastography in diagnosing chronic liver diseases at a potentially reversible stage.

• To understand the importance of detecting fibrosis in patients with suspected chronic liver disease.
• To appreciate the possible shortcomings of liver biopsy.
• To have an overview of the different methods that can be used in elastography.
• To understand advantages and disadvantages of these methods.
