Ms. Maria Agius, Consultant Ophthalmologist, will be delivering a presentation on diabetic eye disease, which is an important complication of diabetes associated with high morbidity. 

The learning objectives which participants will achieve by the end of this module are to:

  • Recognize the importance of diabetic retinopathy as a public health problem 
  • Describe and distinguish between the stages of diabetic retinopathy 
  • Understand the role of risk factor control and annual dilated eye exams in the prevention of visual loss.
