This accredited CME session provides an overview of the mental well-being of the elderly focusing mainly on Anxiety and Depression conditions, their presentation, treatment and general impact on the elderly population in society.

Learning Objectives:

  • appreciate the salient features how depression and anxiety disorders present in later life
  • be confident in their assessment of mood and anxiety symptoms in older patients
  • be able to consider a safe differential diagnosis relevant to the older patient develop a patient-centred approach to the management of mood and anxiety symptoms in older adults.
