COVID-19 – implications for patients suffering from chronic respiratory problems
This e-Learning Session focuses on the effects and implications of COVID-19 in patients with pre-existing chronic respiratory conditions. Professor Montefort highlights how patients with chronic respiratory conditions can react to COVID-19 infection and provides relevant advice to healthcare professionals involved in the treatment of these patients.
Learning Objectives
To discuss whether a difference exists in the likelihood of patients suffering from chronic respiratory conditions contracting COVID-19 and develop complications when compared to patients who do not have underlying chronic respiratory conditions.
To discuss the treatment and management of COVID positive patients
To highlight important advice that should be given to patients with chronic respiratory conditions to aid in COVID-19 prevention, ensure routine treatment maintenance and to alleviate excessive anxiety.
